Job Overview

The Network Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and expanding MTN Zambia’s radio access network (RAN) to meet growing demand for high‑quality mobile services. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive radio network planning, including capacity forecasting, coverage analysis, and frequency allocation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network design documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and MTN’s technical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with RF engineers, site acquisition teams, and external vendors to secure optimal locations for new cell sites.
  • Perform drive‑test data analysis and post‑deployment verification to validate network performance against KPIs.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices to drive innovation within MTN’s network architecture.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in network planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or Mentum.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in RF propagation modeling and traffic forecasting.
  • Knowledge of LTE, 5G NR, and core network concepts.

Education
