Job Overview: We are seeking a Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager to join our team in Mpika, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our conservation efforts, including the use of remote sensing and GIS technologies to monitor and manage forest ecosystems. The position will also involve working with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans that promote sustainable land use and protect biodiversity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support conservation efforts, including the use of remote sensing and GIS technologies
  • Work with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans that promote sustainable land use and protect biodiversity
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of conservation efforts, including the use of data and analytics to inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation strategies that promote sustainable development and protect biodiversity

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
  • 8-12 years of experience in conservation, forestry, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of remote sensing and GIS technologies
  • Experience working with local communities and stakeholders to develop and implement conservation plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
