Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of new renewable energy projects in Zambia, from feasibility studies through construction, commissioning, and handover. Reporting to the Head of Development, the role requires close collaboration with internal multidisciplinary teams, external consultants, government agencies, and local communities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for renewable energy installations.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and legal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including negotiations with landowners, local authorities, and utility companies.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and Enel Green Power’s internal policies.
- Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and external partners.
- Oversee commissioning activities and support the transition to operations and maintenance teams.
Required Skills
- Strong project management expertise with proven ability to deliver large‑scale renewable energy projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and data analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of Zambian energy regulations, permitting processes, and grid interconnection standards.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related discipline is required. A master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Prince2 are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience managing renewable energy projects, preferably in solar, wind, or hydroelectric sectors. Experience working in Zambia or other Sub‑Saharan African markets is advantageous, as is a demonstrated track record of delivering projects within budget and schedule constraints.
Salary
